What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is the ancient art of applying pressure through systematic techniques, to specific terminal points or nerve endings in the feet and hands. Reflexive action stimulates impulses that directly connect to distant organs, glands and parts of the body through these terminal points located in the feet.
Whether you apply Reflexology techniques to yourself or have a professional Reflexology treatment done, the message your body responds to is the release of built-up tension and stress, allowing for greater relaxation, increased body awareness and overall health enhancement.

A Reflexology Certification Course is a 30 hour in class training intensive that includes an overview of the physical anatomy of the body as well as a detailed practical application of reflexology techniques on the hands and feet. A further 60 hours of practical study is also required. Successful completion of a written and practical examination is required to gain certification. Note: After completion of the 30 hour in class course you are required to record 60 case histories of sessions.

Advanced Reflexology Techniques is an 8 hour course that combines the emotional and energy points on the foot as well as some advanced foot assessment techniques. Previous Reflexology experience recommended, or experience with energy techniques.

Examination
Written - 2 hours, Practical - 1 hour and submission of case histories.
Written examination is usually completed approximately 1 month after in class sessions and the practical examination within approximately 6 months, however if you are ready for the practicum, special arrangements can be made. Once you have passed the examinations, you are entitled to use the initials C.R. after your name and are registered with the Reflexology Association of Canada.

The Association
The Reflexology Association of Canada is a Federally chartered non-profit association formed in 1976 with members from coast to coast. The prime objectives are to set and maintain high standards among practicing Reflexologists, for the advancement of quality training, examining and certification, to share ideas and to develop an effective referral system and network across Canada.
